What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is the new kid on the block. Anything that’s on your personal hard drive, anything physical, is the farthest thing from what cloud computing is about. In the simplest terms, it means storing and accessing data over the internet instead of on your computer’s hard drive; the cloud is just a metaphor for the internet. It is user-friendly, extremely useful, and “always there.”

The Types of Cloud Computing

There are two types of cloud computing services: the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). With SaaS, we host your enterprise applications and associated data on its servers and storage-systems; you gain access through your web browser, and you pay a fee per user per month. In contrast, with IaaS, we provide you with virtual machines, physical servers, storage, switching, and connectivity resources to run your application on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Reasons for Switching to Cloud Computing

• It is extremely flexible when it comes to offering the IT services. You can modify the capacity you need from month to month according to your demand, for we understand how business sometimes booms, but is quiet at other times throughout the year. Thus, financially, you can align your IT spending with you actual needs; avoid wasting money.

• As companies have to accommodate to new technology, they have to virtualize their applications. To do so, they need virtual machines to run on the powerful, resilient servers. Cloud computing offers you this advantage without having to buy any new, costly servers.

• Cloud also frees up staff members for other more critical IT projects. A good portion of an IT staff’s time is dedicated to managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment. In addition to providing you with cloud computing, we also offer infrastructure as well as management services. Invest your IT staff in working on other projects that give your business a boost.

• Storing data on physical hardware leads to storing the hardware on actual ground. If a company decides to extend its business, the need for more space for new data centers would be inevitable. Why pay money to expand your land when you can keep your database at our infrastructure?
